Opening Day ABCD: Better ball of 2 net. Groups of 4 are grouped together by handicap index, each team will have an A, B, C, and D player. Each player plays their own ball into the hole and you record the two lowest net scores per hole.
Shootout: There are 3 shootouts per season, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each Shootout has 2 person teams, and different formats for qualifying for Spring, Summer, and Fall. The lowest 10 teams in the qualifier will make the Shootout. The 10 team Shootout is played with handicaps. The 10 team Shootout is Alternate Shot, with 1 team eliminated on each hole until there are 2 teams remaining on the last of 9 holes. In the event of a tie at the end of a hole a chip-off will determine which team moves on.
Shootout with Member or Guest: This tournament is the same as regular shootouts with members being able to bring a guest who must have a USGA handicap to be eligible to play.
Member/Member: There is a Spring and Fall Member/Member. Each team consists of two members who have a handicap indexes within 5.0 strokes of each other. There are Flights consisting of 6 teams per flight. Each team will play five 9-hole matches against the other. If a match is tied each team will get 1.5 points. The team with the most points wins the Flight. There are 27-holes played on Saturday and 18-holes on Sunday.
Blind Draw A/B: The night before the tournament there is a dinner where two person teams are drawn out of a hat, with each team consisting of an A player and B player based on handicaps. The format is better ball of 2 Net.
Harry Bartholomew Four Ball: Connecticut’s premier Four Ball Match Play Tournament. 2 player teams play in an 18-hole stroke play better ball of 2 gross qualifier on Friday. The low 16 gross scores qualify for the Championship Flight. The next 16 gross scores qualify for the First Flight. Those two flights play 18-hole matches over Saturday and Sunday to determine a champion in each flight. There are also two additional flights of 8 which are played with handicaps for qualifiers 33-48. This Tournament is open to members & guests.
Danny Audet Memorial Tournament: This Tournament is an Individual Gross and Net stroke play event using 100% handicaps. There is a great cash and pro shop credit payout for this event. This event is open to members and guests. Guests must have a USGA handicap.
Parent/Child Tournament: This tournament is for members and their family members and takes place on Fathers Day. This is a Scramble format and a fun day for all participants.
One Day Member/Guest: We have two Member/Guest tournaments every year. This is a great opportunity for members to bring on or three guests to the club for a day of fun and golf. There is an 18-hole tournament with gross score and net score prizes. Lunch and dinner is included in entry fee. After dinner we also have a merchandise raffle for a chance to win additional prizes.
Men’s Club Championship: 18-hole qualifying to determine Championship Flight, 1st Flight and 2nd Flight. Handicaps used in 1st and 2nd Flight.
Senior Club Championship: 36-hole stroke play event played over two days, a Saturday and Sunday, for members 50 and over. Gross and Net scores prizes are awarded. There is also a Super Senior category for any member 65 years or older.
P.G.C. Open: This is a similar tournament to the Danny Audet Memorial. This is an 18-hole individual Gross and Net score tournament using 100% of handicaps. There is a big cash and pro shop credit payout. This event is open to members, guests and the pubic as long as they have a USGA handicap.
Field Day: This is usually the last tournament of the year. A fun course set up where members can play in groups of 8 and in & drink all day. There is also a merchandise raffle after the tournament where each member is guaranteed to win a prize.
