Tree work is going well. Hired LaChance to remove the large pine at the 1 tee box, and they will be removing the larger logs from the other trees we have removed soon. This trees include 3 pines to the right of the 3rd green, the pine behind 18 back tee and the 2 pines in the island between 18 and 4 tees.
Other tree work so far has included the removal of 6 sickly spruces between 1 and 9 fairways, 4 sickly spruces between 1 and 18 (near the fence area of the cellphone tower), the smaller pines next to the 2″ forward tee and some small pines/spruces between 2 and 17 fairways. We will continue with some other trees that were designated over the next month.
Continuing to do some course clean up as weather allows. We pick up any branches that fall after heavy winds to keep up with that, and continue blowing under trees when it isn’t frozen. This winter has been the first
“normal” winter in a while, were temperatures have been seasonal, or a bit chillier. The recent snow will put us on hold for continued leave/pine needle clean-up, but we can continue tree work, and will be doing some tree limbing as well.
We’ve begun going through all of the equipment for winter service. This includes changing all the filters/oil, repairing/replacing any damaged hydraulic hoses, sharping blades on rotary mowers, and servicing the reels on the reel mowers, including replacing all bearings/seals, sharpening or replacing bed knives, and grinding reels.
